Transform Your Holiday Dance Recital From Predictable to Profitable, Part 3

Last updated on February 3, 2021 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Along with the revenue you generate from the ticket sales and the add-on items themselves (see Parts 1 & 2), another way you can make your next holiday recital profitable is to use it to gain exposure for your studio. One of the benefits of using online ticketing for your holiday dance recital is that it gives you a chance to reach out to new potential students and their families without spending extra money on advertising. Here are several ways you could take advantage of this opportunity:

Use Your Holiday Recital to Increase Awareness of Your Dance Studio

You can broaden the potential audience for your holiday recital by adding a link to your online ticket sales page on your studio’s website homepage. Do the same for all of your school’s social media pages. If, for some reason, your studio doesn’t have social media pages, go ahead now and start them! Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are all popular social media platforms that can draw added interest in your school at little or no cost.

Social media and your studio website are a good supplement to the old school advertising methods you probably already use. In case you don’t already do so, remember to put up posters and fliers around town to advertise your holiday recital. You can even purchase ads in the area newspapers or put an ad spot on your local radio station.

Use the physical tickets themselves as a way to advertise for your school. Make sure your studio name and contact information are included on the ticket. You could also print an advertisement or even a bonus feature right on the ticket. For example, you could offer free or low-cost class registration.

One creative way to raise awareness for your school is by offering free or discounted tickets for certain groups. For example, if you have any after school clubs in your area that you know are frequented by kids who fall into the age range of many of your current students, consider letting them into your recital for free or at a special group rate. Once they see your students perform in their big holiday recital, these potential students may be more interested in signing up for lessons at your studio. You may even want to throw in free class registration or even a free or discounted mini dance class session for those who attend the recital.

Generate Extra Revenue By Selling Advertising Space

You could also choose to sell advertising space to a local business. These ads could be printed on your tickets, on the recital programs, or on any other printed materials you post or pass out concerning the recital. You could also run the paid ads for local businesses on a screen before the recital begins – the way that movie theaters run trailers advertising other movies before starting the featured presentation.

As you can see, there are all sorts of ways you can take something you do every year and turn it into a huge revenue-generating event for your studio. Consider using these smart and tech-savvy methods to make this year’s holiday recital your most successful one yet.
